Stanbic Bank must comply with international KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations.  Therefore to satisfy all KYC requirements, they will need the following documentation before opening an account for you.

Step 1- Please visit the one stop shop in Lusaka or your nearest Stanbic Bank branch to collect your account opening form.

• If you are living abroad, please click on the links below to obtain the Stanbic Account opening forms. Once you have done so, please print them out, fill in the necessary information, sign and courier the forms back to us in the one stop shop. (If you are unsure about any of the information required by the forms, please contact one of our friendly sales staff
   

• If you are opening your account at your own branch, please be sure to emphasise that you wish to open an HFA Savings Account especially for Lilayi Customers and that the first five digits of your account number should be 01213

Step 2 –Please provide a certified or notarized copy of  your ID Document (NRC or Passport)

Step 3 – Please obtain a reference letter from your employer stating your physical address and your gross salary. For your convenience we have provided a draft template of such reference letter which must be printed on your employers letterhead. You can print a copy of this template by clicking on this link.  

Alternatively you can provide one of the following which states that you are known to the author:

•  A letter of introduction from your current or previous bank. For your convenience, we have provided a draft template of such a reference letter which MUST be printed on your bank’s letterhead.  You can print a copy of this template by clicking on this link.
   

• A letter from an existing Stanbic Bank customer of at least 12 months standing
  - In this case the existing customer should state their account number and sign in conformity with the signature that Stanbic holds on the mandate. For your convenience, we have provided a draft template of such a reference letter.  You can print a copy of this template by clicking on this link.
   

• A Letter from a reputable lawyer/law firm - For your convenience, we have provided a draft template of such a reference letter which MUST be printed on your lawyer’s letterhead.  You can print a copy of this template by clicking on this link .
   

• A Letter from a reputable accounting firm. For your convenience, we have provided a draft template of such a reference letter which MUST be printed on your accountant’s  letterhead.  You can print a copy of this template by clicking on this link
   

• Students can provide a letter from their learning institution. For your convenience, we have provided a draft template of such a reference letter which MUST be printed on the learning institution’s  letterhead.  You can print a copy of this template by clicking on this link

Note : Proof of Identification and reference letters must be originals, certified or notarized true copies.

Step 4 - Please provide us with two colour passport size photographs

Step 5 - Please remember that you need K50 000 to activate your account (for overseas buyers only)

Step 6 - Once you have obtained all the required documents and completed the necessary forms, please arrange to deliver or courier all the required documents and completed forms back to us using a courier that can provide a tracking number.  To assist us in following up with the courier, please email or phone us with the courier’s tracking number.
